Hello My name is Allen, and I am a coffee and nicotine addict. No ~ don't leave yet ~ this is not one of those lettered meetings ~ just a way to talk about our treasures without bogging down the auction process. This past week I was hiding in the basement sneaking a tube of tobacco, and Oprah Winfrey was on the tube. She had this poor woman, who's family had decided they couldn't live with her stuff problem anymore ~ GOOD GOD they took ALL her trash and even the treasures ~ sent it to a big ugly warehouse ~ are you ready ~ THEY SOLD HER STUFF! ALL the stuff. I couldn't believe my eyes! Who could do that to a loved one~ then I thought of my own family. Could they ~ should they ~ would they do the same thing to me? I didn't like the answers my nicotine fueled mind raced with ~ could they ~ OH YEA they could ~ they may even should ~ Marty's mentioned many times that should the cigarettes kill me ~ the first call she will make is to 1-800-GOT-JUNK. The one comment that the psychologist made really hit home ~ She said " A collector will display ~ a hoarder will hide the treasures. WOW ~ that means the 200+ coffee cups, and mugs in the cool Styrofoam grape boxes are not a collection ~ they are a problem that may turn my life into a reality show nightmare. That's where you folks come in ~ I'm going to be proactive and sell them on eBay ~ before Oprah and crew pull into the driveway. That's how the 12 Mugs of Christmas sale was born. We started December 1st, and every day will list as many mugs as our free time allows. BUT also EVERY day we will list the favorite mug in that days batch for Charity using Mission Fish, and eBays Giving Works programs. The minimum donation is 5.00 through them, so the Charity mugs will all start over 5.00. We will do this every day until December 12th. That way they will all end before Christmas. As time allows ` we will also update this blog, as often as we can.
